Press conference of the Polish Parliament and Senate Observation Mission in Georgia

Due to the upcoming second round of the parliamentary elections in Georgia, an independent observation mission of Polish Sejm and Senate visits Georgia since 27th of October to the 1st of November.

The observation process is being conducted by 10 Polish MPs: Małgorzata Gosiewska(PiS) – Head of the Mission, Magdalena Błeńska (Kukiz’15), Piotr Cieśliński (PO), Zbigniew Konwiński (PO), Wojciech Kossakowski (PiS), Bernadeta Krynicka (PiS), Michał Jaros (N.), Krzysztof Ostrowski (PiS), Piotr Pyzik (PiS), i Robert Kropiwnicki (PO) and 8 senators: Bogdan Borusewicz (PO) – Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Arkadiusz Grabowski (PiS), Wiesław Kilian (PO), Ryszard Majer (PiS), Andrzej Pająk (PiS), Marek Pęk (PiS), Aleksander Szwed (PiS) and Barbara Zdrojewska (PO).

Observation Mission of Sejm and Senate in Georgia is established on the independence and neutrality bases, as well as not interfering into the election process and respect to the local law.

Actions taken by observers will be divided into three stages.

Since 27th to 28th of October the head of the mission Małgorzata Gosiewska and MP Magdalena Błeńska are going to monitor the last stage of the election campaign. They will meet The Central Election Commission’s representatives, members of local commissions, political parties’ committees as well as NGOs and other observers of the election campaign. On the 29th of October all observers will be watching the last preparations before the second round of elections in different regions of Georgia. On the election day groups of Sejm and Senate’s observers are going to monitor voting process in diverse regions of the country.

Irrespective of Observation Mission of Sejm and Senate, Polish deputies will participate in the monitoring of election process performed by NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly.

A press conference of the Polish Parliament and Senate Observation Mission will take place on 31st of October at 5 p.m in a conference hall of Holiday Inn in Tbilisi, right after briefing of ODIHR.
