Davit Usupashvili brings out letter sent to Ivanishvili, Kvirikashvili

Parliament Speaker Davit Usupashvili has published a letter sent to former and incumbent Prime Ministers Bidzina Ivanishvili and Giorgi Kvirikashvili on March 11, 2016.

In the letter Usupashvili says that order should be established in the coalition immediately. According to him, this is the number one task of the coalition, the government and the state.

The letter also discusses relations with the Republicans. Usupashvili says his resources as a “mediator” have been exhausted.

“After a long and complicated consultations with Mr. Bidzina we agreed that the coalition was to move to the election mode from 1 September 2015 in order to properly prepare for the elections. The Georgian Dream and the Republican Party were to be backbones of the coalition, but other parties were also to stay in the coalition.

The process was delayed for different reasons and the issue of PM’s replacement was raised in November. So, the election processes were delayed due to formation of a new government”, says the letter.

According to Usupashvili, the founder of the coalition decided to distance himself from the coalition’s political –electoral activities and as a result, some vacuum was created in the political management, which was filled with individual initiatives and counter initiatives.

Usupashvili says in the letter that today the situation is out of control and every day we are at risk of extremely damaging surprises.

The Parliament Speaker offers the addressees of the letter to sit at the negotiations table and to discuss the existing situation.

The letter was read by Davit Usupashvili on Imedi TV yesterday.
