The meeting of US-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission on Trade, Economy and Energy is being held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From the Georgian side, the meeting is attended by the First Deputy-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani and the Deputy-Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Gennady Arveladze, while the United States is represented by the co-chairmen of the commission in Economic and Business Affairs Kurt Tong and the assistant administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Thomas Melia.

The meeting will discuss the Georgia-US trade and economic relations, including bilateral and regional investment projects. Sides will also discuss the future cooperation in the fields of energy and environment. Special attention will be paid to the New Silk Road initiative and to the role of Georgia as a transit and logistics hub.

At the end of the session, participants will meet the media representatives.
