The first council of the Constitutional Court has satisfied the claim of Girchi about the decriminalization of marijuana. According to the decision of the court, a person will not be subject to an administrative penalty for consumption of marijuana.

Constitutional Court of Georgia satisfied the complaint of “Girchi” Party members Zurab Japaridze and Vakhtang Megrelishvili and declared all sanctions against consumption of Marijuana without medical prescription as unconstitutional.

The plaintiff side claimed that all sanctions for consumption of Marijuana without medical prescription should be declared as unconstitutional. They explained that use of Marijuana is the free right of a person and its consumption may only inflict harm to his/her health, who is responsible for the outcome.

The exception is the specific fact of consumption in places such as educational institutions, public places, transport, etc.
